DN 10 controlled system: Precisely, quickly, and reliably control flow rates
In many fluid handling applications, flow rates must be delivered with high precision while remaining constant, accurately metered, and reproducible. With the DN 10 controlled system, A. u. K. Müller offers a compact solution desgined for the measurement, control, and regulation of water and water-like media using a proportional valve.
The controlled system combines a proportional valve, the MT 40 turbine flow meter, and specially developed control electronics to provide a control range of 6–40 l/min. Its operating pressure range of 0,5–10 bar, together with the carefully selected materials, also makes it suitable for drinking water and sanitary applications. As a result, the controlled system is ideal for applications that require reliable, hygienic, and consistent flow rates.
Solenoid valve instead of a stepper motor: fast response and low wear
At the heart of the controlled system is a proportional solenoid valve. Fluid control is achieved electromagnetically, eliminating the need for a stepper motor. As a result, the valve responds quickly to changes in the control variable while operating with minimal wear, as no mechanical actuator is required.
Another significant advantage is the NC function: the valve is normally closed when de-energized. In the event of a power failure, the solenoid valve closes automatically. This is an important safety feature, particulary in sanitary, drinking water, and dosing applications, as it prevents uncontrolled flow of the medium. As a result, there is no need for an additional shut-off valve.
Complete controlled system with MT 40 turbine flow meter
Equipped with the MT 40 turbine flow meter and control electronics integrated into the valve connector, a complete controlled system is available. The required flow rate is specified as the setpoint, the MT 40 turbine flow meter measures the actual flow rate, and the control electronics continuously adjust the proportional valve accordingly.
This means that the assembly performs the complete measurement, control, and regulation function. The user only needs to provide the adequate supply flow within the defined pressure range and specify the desired flow rate.

Also available as a valve with control electronics
In addition to the complete controlled system with turbine flow meter, the valve is also available with control electronics only. In this configuration, it functions as a precise actuator. The actual control must then be implemented by the customer, e.g. by using an external flow or pressure measurement together with a higher-level control system.
It is important to note that without the corresponding turbine flow meter or external sensors, the valve cannot independently respond to an existing flow rate or pressure. A suitable measurement variable is always required for a closed-loop control.
Flexible control: analog or digital
Various control options are available for integration into different system architectures. The controlled system can be operated via analog signals of 0–10 V, 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA. In addition, digital control via UART is supported.
This allows the controlled system to be seamlessly integrated into both conventional machine control system and modern digitally networked environments.
Compact, reliable and versatile
The DN 10 controlled system by A. u. K. Müller combines fast-acting solenoid valve technology, precise flow measurement, and flexible control electronics in a compact solution for modern fluid control applications. It is ideally suited for applications requiring flow rates between 6–40 l/min to be delivered reliably, consistently, and on demand – from industrial processes to drinking water and sanitary applications.
