The backflow preventer protects the drinking water network against backflow of service water (DIN EN 1717) and is specially designed for the direct connection of devices - such as beverage dispensers, kitchen appliances, water dispensers, dentist's chairs, etc. - to the drinking water pipe network.

The controllable backflow preventers of the 49.000 series, type EA and EC are not only developed according to the performance requirements of DIN EN 13959 and confirmed by an accredited test centre. In contrast to components made of non-ferrous metals, polymers cannot result in the release of lead into drinking water, even if it is small.

The high performance polymers used are also 100% BPA free. Bisphenol A (BPA) is suspected of being harmful to health. As an innovation driver, A. u. K. Müller is therefore particularly concerned to go far beyond the standards and legal requirements and, as a precautionary measure, to refrain from using plastics for drinking water and food applications that require bisphenol A in their production process.
