SHK+E 2024 in Essen

In 2024, A. u. K. Müller once again presented innovations from the world of valve technology at SHK+E in Essen. The motto: We make our products, which usually remain hidden, tangible for trade visitors.

Following its debut at SHK Essen in 2022, A. u. K. Müller once again presented innovations from the world of valves for the sanitary industry at SHK+E 2024. The valves, functional elements, manifolds, pumps and electronic control units, which usually remain hidden as the heart of every application - from bathroom fittings to heat pumps - were explained in detail to the trade audience. Visitors were also able to find out what to look out for when choosing the right valve for each application and how to install it in accordance with standards. The advantages of using high-performance polymers were also discussed.

The Essentials of SHK+E 2024 in Brief:

  • The new UBA conformity hygiene certificates are here (KTW-BWGL)
  • Innovation for DIN 1717-compliant pressure relief
  • Everything from a single source: valve, sensors and power supply for electronic fittings
  • Comprehensive functional elements for the construction of complex and easy-to-maintain water lines
  • The FLOWflex valve: the tried-and-tested manual on/off actuation concept is now available with infinitely variable flow rate adjustment
  • Advantages of using high-performance plastic over metal versions

The New UBA Conformity Hygiene Certificates According to 1+ (KTW-BWGL)

Special news from A. u. K. Müller for SHK+E 2024 is the receipt of the new UBA conformity hygiene certificates for a wide range of   A. u. K. Müller sanitary and servo valve series - issued by DVGW Cert. This makes A. u. K. Müller one of the first manufacturers certified in System 1+ - even for hot water applications. You can find a specific overview of all certificates and series here. KTW-BWGL – UBA Zertifikat Hygiene für A. u. K. Müller Ventile (akmueller.de)

Innovation for DIN 1717-Compliant Pressure Relief

It is not uncommon for excessively high pressures to be trapped between the inlet-side non-return valve and the water inlet valve - due to temperature fluctuations, for example. As a result, the valve can no longer switch or the application may even be damaged. A. u. K. Müller took this as an opportunity to develop the first pressure relief function for pilot-controlled valve systems from DN 7 to ensure DIN 1717-compliant pressure relief and to protect drinking water against recontamination. We were able to present this concept to a broad specialist audience for the first time at SHK+E with elaborate animations. The positive response to this concept was impressive. The pressure relief function is now available. You can find more information here. Druckentlastungsventil für vorgesteuerte Magnetventile gem. DIN 1717 (akmueller.de)

The CF System and the Numerous Functional Elements Impress with Their Easy Handling and Safety.

To match our valves, A. u. K. Müller offers a wide range of connecting and functional elements, from stopcocks to pressure reducers, strainers, non-return valves and distributors. With its standard thread sizes, the CF manifold system is suitable for almost any application. The highlight: installation is very simple and can be done by hand without tools.

Trade visitors to SHK+E were able to see for themselves how easy it is to operate the CF system, the A. u. K. Müller pressure reducer and the functional elements. The DN 17 strainer with shut-off function could be tested directly.

The pressure reducers are available in both adjustable and fixed preset versions to prevent operating errors during installation. Many connection variants are possible.

FLOWflex Valve - Mechanical On/Off Valves with Infinitely Variable Flow Rate Adjustment

The FLOW valves are already a classic and a game changer in operating logic that has become indispensable in the sanitary world. It was therefore only natural to show the latest version of this valve in action at SHK+E 2024.

The latest version is the only solution for a mechanical on/off valve with infinitely variable flow rate adjustment. The comprehensive variants from DN 5 - DN 9 make the valve an all-rounder from the kitchen to the wellness shower.

And the best thing is that it is easy to operate, independent of the mains, without accidental volume or temperature adjustment.

Advantages of Using High-Performance Polymers over Metallic Alternatives

Polymers surround us and have become an integral part of everyday life. The resulting increase in environmental pollution presents us with major problems and has led to a generalized "polymers bashing". But is this generalization correct? As a manufacturer and innovation driver for solenoid valves made of high-performance polymers, we also wanted to use our platform at SHK+E to dispel a few prejudices.

The use of polymers in disposable items and in packaging implies a short-term product life coupled with inadequate recycling. On the other hand, there are also long-term uses, such as in our valve housings. These have a much better environmental footprint than metallic alternatives. This starts with the manufacturing process. The energy required to manufacture a plastic housing is significantly lower than for a brass housing. Polymers are suitable for long-term use in drinking water applications. The use of lead can be completely dispensed with.

In the further product life cycle, plastic scores points because it conducts heat much less well. This means that polymers has much less influence on the media temperature than metal. This reduces energy consumption over the service life.

Last but not least, polymers valves from A. u. K. Müller are designed for a particularly long service life, which is in no way inferior to metal alternatives. The bottom line is a significantly better ecological balance.
